The race was off the hook! It was fun running through the ocean wash the first quarer mile into the race. The volunteers were the best. Anybody who can stand in that horrible weather and help us runners out is totally tough. The soup was so darn good after that weather. Wasn’t it? What a great race. One of the best in my book. Thank God for the beer and soup after. lol

Don’t know where to start. What a CRAZY day, very much unlike 2010′s race. Once you sign up….you go for it and that is just what everone did…..just do it! Many, many thanks to the volunteers that made this day possible, even in the wind and driving rain. The folks that stood out in the rain to hand us water even when they couldn’t get the water to stay in the cups….I love you all. And also to the OCPD who stood watch for us so that even when the wind blew us off the sidewalks or around the streets…..we still made it back in one piece!!!!!!!

Thanks so much to all of the volunteers and the OC police department for supporting us in the wind, rain, sleet and sand storm! The weather definitely made for a memorable first 5K race.

What a crazy day! MANY thanks to all of the volunteers and police officers who stood out there for us. The baby hurricane made crossing the finish line so much sweeter.

It was all worth it to come across the finish line with my hubbie, Jerry hand in hand. It was his first 10 miler so he really earned his rookie bragging rights for sure !! It was a PR for myself and a PR for a best pal that took 2nd place in the females, DIane Walsh. Her husband, Patrick enjoyed his first 10 miler and did an outstanding job. A big huge Thanks to all the volunteers that braved the nasty weather conditions and to all the OC police dept. The BEER was yummy as well as the snacks. Great time had by all of us.
