Outstanding turnout for the 2nd running of the OCMD St. Patty’s Day Boardwalk 5K!

With over 1,000 registered participants the weather cooperated nicely.  At race start 9:00 in the morning, 51 degrees with partly cloudy skies, not too bad for Ocean City, MD in mid march.  We’d like to thank Shenanigan’s Irish Pub and Grillle and Guiness for helping out with such a fantastic second year event.  With good running conditions and a great atmosphere, there were still glitches, conjested finish chute along with chip timing error does call for some solemn bag pipe cries, it just leaves room for exciting improvement for next years race.  We do apologize to all runners for the delay with posting race results, the techs are currently working on this error and should have the matter resolved in a few days.  You can find some tentative results on the “RESULTS” page and we will continue to update these results until they are complete.  OC Tri-Running Sports thanks all the wonderful athletes for their patience and understanding and extreme gratitude to the volunteers that came to help out and support us and Diakonia on this fun filled, exciting holiday!!

EVENT REGISTRATION

Please carefully read and sign waiver, filling out form in its entirety and mail your check or money order to:

If you choose to mail in your registration it will not be complete unitl we receive your completed form with fee and have processed it.  This usually takes approximately 7-10 days from post mark date.  Once this occurs your name will appear on the confirmation list.

Online registrations are processed immediately and your name will appear on confirmation list in a few hours.

We will be accepting registrations on the morning of the event at Shenanigans Bar and Grill, but we cannot guarantee you an event shirt or any other give a ways if you choose to wait to register.  Event Shirts and Give A Ways are only guaranteed to Pre Registered participants who register before Feb. 27, 2012.  When choosing your event shirt please remember they are tech style, fitted and gender specific that run small in women sizes.

RACE FEES
$28.00 for all registrations until February 20, 2011 midnight.
$38.00 for all registrations thereafter.

RACE BIBS

Your race bib must be securely fastened to the front of your body at the start and all during your race.  Make sure your number is clearly displayed.  Our volunteers, staff, and photographer will need this number to identify you.  Your bib comes with a perforated bottom tag, please do not remove this tag as it is used to help keep track of your time.  These tags will be collected as you cross finish line.  Your bib also acts as your ticket to any post race activities so please do not remove, trade, or tare your bib after finishing your race.

DIRECTIONS

From Baltimore / DC area:
Once on US50 head east across Bay Bridge onto eastern shore.  US50 will take you directly into Ocean City, MD.  After entering city, make left on Baltimore Ave. to 4th st. Shenanigan’s Bar & Grill and boardwalk race starting area on 4th st.
From Dover area:
Once on US113 head south into Maryland to US 50.  Take US50 east into Ocean City, MD.  After entering city, make left on Baltimore Ave. to 4th st.  Shenanigan’s Bar & Grill and boardwalk race starting area on 4th st.
From Richmond / Virginia Beach area:
Once on I64 east head to US13 north.  Take US13 north across Cheasapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel into Maryland.  After entering Maryland merge onto US113 to US50 east.  Take US50 east into Ocean City, MD.  Make left on Baltimore Ave. to 4th st.  Shenanigan’s Bar & Grill and boardwalk race starting area on 4th st.
From Philadelphia/New York area:
Once on I95 south go to US1 south towards Delaware Beaches.  US1 and US113 merge, stay on to US50 east into Ocean City, MD.  After entering city make left on Baltimore Ave. to 4th st. to Shenanigan’s Bar & Grill and boardwalk race starting area.

RACE RULES AND PROHIBITED ITEMS ON COURSE

This race will follow all USATF competition rules.  These rules can be found at www.usatf.org/about/rules.
The following items are not permitted on course during the race:
no in-line skates or rollerblades.
no pets of any kind.
no strollers, only baby jogger are permitted.
no music devices such as mp3 players or ipods.
Anyone found in violation of these rules will be removed from course.

Minimal parking at Shenanigan’s as well as parking on street.

CELEBRATE OUR GREAT NATIONS BIRTHDAY WITH THIS RACE!  Ocean Pines Assocation is hosting a 5K on July 4, 2012.

On the date our nation was born, July 4th Ocean Pines Association welcomes all to start off their holiday with a 5K course thru its gorgeous community.  Race will start at 8:00am at the South gate Pond.  More details on this event are coming soon.

RUN UNITED 5K RUN/WALK

Benefit: This race is to benefit the Snow Hill Girls’ soccer programs.

Location, Date, and Time: Pavillion at Sturgis Park, Snow Hill, Maryland on July 7th, 2012 at 8:00am.

Parking: Parking is available behind the Post Office on Washington Street; within a short walking distance to start.

Fees: $20 if registered before 6/1/2012.  $25 after 5/31/2012 or day of event. Fee includes T-shirt to first 100 entrants.

We are very pleased to bring back the Assateague Island 1 Mile Sunset Swim.  We put this event together last year last minute and because of the high number of requests we are more than happy to add it to our 2012 event calendar.  Registration and Race information can be found on the EVENTS page.  Check it out and spread the word!

The 2012 Assateague Assault Sprint Triathlon is now open.  We thank you for your patience with us.  The date has changed this year so be aware when planning your 2012 race schedule.  Go the the EVENTS page for all race details and registration information.

There are so few 10 K events on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.  Here is one that is for a great cause plus has incredible scenery along the way!  This course runs along a beautiful golf course and the scenic Choptank River.  Information and Event registration brochure can be found here!
